Paradisical sight of the entire Kanchanjungha range, the third highest mountain peak in the world along with the other peaks of the Eastern Himalayas just before the sunrise or what is better known as the astronomical dawn when the sun is several degrees below the horizon but the light illuminating the entire range…a magical sight to endeavour. Shot from a small and quaint hamlet in the Eastern Himalayas called Tonglu in Eastern India.

The beautiful, picturesque, quaint and silent valley of Tumling. Situated in the Eastern Himalayas this would enchant and mesmerize anyone deciding to make a stopover while traveling to Sandakphu……here I shot this in the evening after the sun had completely set and the sky was just filled with myriad of colors …..just awesomeness all around….what a place…!!
Sandakphu or Sandakfu (3636 m; 11,941 ft) is the highest peak in the state of West Bengal, India. It is situated at the edge of the Singalila National Park in Darjeeling district on the West Bengal-Nepal border and is the highest point of the Singalila Ridge. Four of the five highest peaks in the world, Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu can be seen from its summit.
From Sandakphu the best view of the mountain Kangchenjunga is possible, which is known as the Sleeping Buddha
Taken on a clear day from Sandakphu at 3636 mts, From left to right Kabru S 7317 mts, Kancenjungha 8585 mts, Kabru Forked 6108 mts, Simvo 6811 mts, Pandim 6691 mts along with the Bhutan & Sikkim mountain ranges.
Clear days such as this are a rarity and do not happen very often, when they do, its a bliss!
